The LHCOS Adoption program is getting an update! Adoption Coordinator Alison Brant is reworking our application forms and streamlining the adoption process. We hope these changes will improve response time and keep our maps current. Cat Barron has agreed to join the Adoption team to assist with processing applications.

The application form to become an approved adopter is updated and live on the Hermit Crab Adoption page.

Existing approved adopters should have received an email from adoptions @ lhcos.org requesting a status update via the update form. If you are currently an LHCOS approved adopter and did not receive the update email, contact adoptions @ lhcos.org, and provide your adopter number and current contact information.

Pending approved adopter applicants will be contacted via email in batches of 25 and will be provided a link to the Tank Review form to start their application again. The email will come from adoptions @ lhcos.org.

We will announce when all of the emails have been sent out. If at that time you didn’t receive the email you can re-apply via the initial application form.

Pending approved adopter applicants should NOT reapply at this time. Please wait for us to announce that we have sent all follow-up emails. Reapplying before then may further delay your application.

Once the backlog of Adopter applications is brought current Alison will begin working on the Adoptee applications to bring those current as well.

Adopt! Don’t Shop!
