The Lucky Crab Co.!
Where Crab~tastic Creations are born and crafted with love!
We’re Meredith and Brian, a husband-and-wife team who have shared nearly 35 years of creativity, love, and passion. Together, we’ve dedicated ourselves to making the world a safer, happier place for our little-shelled companions.
My journey with hermit crabs began at age 12 when I was captivated by these little-shelled creatures. Back then, little was known about their needs, and sadly, my first hermit crabs only lived a few years. Fast forward to October 2019, when our family welcomed our first crabs as pets. It quickly became clear that much of the care advice and products available for them weren’t just inadequate—they were dangerous.
The heartbreaking loss of our sweet Goliath due to unsafe makeshift pools was a turning point. We knew we had to act, and with Brian’s 30+ years of engineering and 3D printing expertise and my love of crafting, we set out to create products that would ensure hermit crabs thrive.
Our first creation, The Bubbler Pool, wasn’t just a product—it was a promise to improve care standards for hermit crabs everywhere. Designed with thoughtful features like integrated stairs and bubble guards, it quickly became a game-changer in proper hermit crab care and marked the beginning of The Lucky Crab Co. in June 2020.
Today, our love for hermit crabs continues to grow, as does our own hermit crab family of over 100 crabs across seven crabitats. We now create a wide range of enrichment items—from toys and wheels to saucers and more—all 3D printed and handmade with care. Every item is tested and approved by our own crabs to ensure safety, functionality, and fun for yours.
When you choose The Lucky Crab Co., you’re not just buying a product—you’re supporting a mission. A mission to enrich the lives of these fascinating creatures, advance captive breeding efforts, and help preserve wild hermit crabs by keeping them where they belong: in the wild.
Thank you for being part of our journey and for sharing our passion for these extraordinary little creatures. Together, we can make a difference, one crab at a time.
