These maps are used by approved participants in the LHCOS adoption program to identify potential matches based on location.
The maps do not create matches automatically.
Participants are responsible for reviewing the maps and requesting connections through the Adoption Team.

- You must be an approved participant in the adoption program
- You must use map entry numbers when requesting connections
- All communication must go through the Adoption Team
We do not match adopters with owners.
The maps are provided so you can identify potential matches independently.
We do not provide lists of approved adopters or available hermit crabs.

Approved Adopters Map
Use this map if you are placing hermit crabs for adoption and need to find an approved adopter.
How to Use This Map
- Review adopters based on location
- Identify one or more potential matches
- Submit the corresponding map number(s) to the Adoption Team
- Include your information and details of the hermit crabs being placed
The Adoption Team will verify eligibility and facilitate the connection.
Available Hermit Crabs Map
Hermit Crabs Available for Adoption
Use this map if you are an approved adopter looking for hermit crabs to adopt.
How to Use This Map
- Review available hermit crabs based on location
- Identify one or more potential matches
- Submit the corresponding map number(s) to the Adoption Team
- Include your Adopter Number for verification
The Adoption Team will verify both parties and facilitate the connection.
Request a Connection
To request a connection, email the Adoption Team and include:
- The map number(s) of the potential match
- Your Adopter Number (if applicable)
- Any relevant details needed for the adoption
You may request more than one potential match at a time.
Requests involving unapproved individuals will not be processed.
Requests for lists of adopters or available hermit crabs will not be fulfilled.
You must use the maps to identify potential matches.
Keeping the Maps Accurate
These maps are only effective if they remain current.
You must notify the Adoption Team if:
- You are no longer accepting hermit crabs (adopters)
- Your hermit crabs have been placed (owners)
- Your location or availability changes
Failure to keep your information current may result in removal from the map.
Important
- Do not contact individuals directly outside of the approved process
- Do not attempt to bypass the Adoption Team
- Do not use the maps if you are not approved
All connections must be facilitated through the Adoption Team to ensure proper documentation and verification.
